Ronda Rousey is an American mixed martial artist and judoka. She is the first and current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Also, she is the former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion. She has defeated all of her opponents in the first round by an armbar. Ronda was the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in Judo at the summer Olympics in Beijing in 2008. She trains under Gokor Chivichyan of the Hayastan MMA academy. She also trains under Edmond Tarverdyan of the Glendale Fighting Club. This woman is number one pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world! She is also ranked number one at 135 pounds, according to all the rankings. Rousey made her mixed martial arts debut as an amateur on August 6, 2010. She defeated Hayden Munoz by submission due to an armbar in 23 seconds. Rousey has been to different kickboxing tournaments. She decided to enter the quarterfinals of Tuff-N-Uff 145 pounds women’s tournament on November 12, 2010 and submitted promotional veteran Autumn Richardson with an armbar in 57 seconds. As you see Ronda is big on her armbars, that is her favorite submission to pull. Most of all of her fights she has won are off of armbar submissions and has not even been a minute yet. After she defeated Autumn in the Tuff-N-Uff tournament, she decided to go pro and was replaced in the tournament. Her nickname is Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey. Ronda’s record in the UFC is 7-0 and in her Amateur fights she is 3-0. She is undefeated in UFC right now. One quote she always says to herself before she fights is, “No one has the right to beat you!”
One of Ronda Rousey’s famous quotes is “I’ve been through so much that there isn’t much left that can be scare me. I’ve felt the most pain that I could feel, and I’ve felt the most pressure that I could feel and there’s nothing else left. And I believe that I’m capable of doing anything.”
