My Mixed Martial Arts Life

What’s up guys, I’m Alyssa Satterfield. I am a sophomore in high school. I plan to go to the Air Force after graduating from high school.  I am originally from Texas, but I live in North Carolina. Well let’s talk about how much I love MMA (mixed martial arts,) and why I love it so much. While I was growing up I was a tomboy and loved to wrestle with my father. My dad and I would watch all the UFC fights that came on TV. If you are wondering what UFC is, it stands for Ultimate Fighting Championship. I am sixteen years of age and I have been training MMA for 2 years. Every time my dad and I watched an MMA match on TV, I would always say to him, “That is going to be me one day daddy!” I have loved MMA ever since I’ve started watching it when I was younger. I guess this sport interested me because I was never a girly girl, I was the total opposite and loved the outdoors. Some words that would describe me as why I would train as a MMA fighter would be, aggressive, competitive, and tough. If you would ever meet me you will learn that I am a very active and outgoing person. Some of my favorite quotes that might tell you more about me are, “When I’m in there, I’m not there to survive, I’m there to hunt!” This quote is from a MMA fighter, George St. Pierre. Another one of my favorites is by a female MMA fighter named, Ronda Rousey. She says, “Some people like to call me cocky or arrogant, but I just think, ‘How dare you assume I should think less of myself?’” Later on in my other blog posts, you will read and learn about great different MMA fighters!
